To my Longmont Community,
My name is Victoria Cook, and I am reaching out to you with a story close to my heart—a story about Longmont, a community that has played an integral role in shaping the lives of my family, especially my son, Scott Cook.
In 1985, my husband Larry and I made a choice—to move to Longmont. Amongst all the communities in Colorado and, one could argue, the entire country, Longmont stood out. Larry, a United Airlines pilot, and me as a flight attendant, had the freedom to move almost anywhere, but we chose Longmont, and it became our home. Here, we raised our five children, instilling in them the values of faith, perseverance, and the importance of supporting community.
Although I now reside in Westminster, CO, my connection to Longmont remains strong. Over a decade may have passed since we left, but I still find myself drawn back to this vibrant community. Longmont is not just a place; its home and still resonates with a feeling of belonging.
Recently, my son Scott shared with me the exciting news about the renovations to the Chamber building and the launch of the Foundation Forward campaign. Learning about this initiative reminded me how much my own family was shaped by Longmont, the local businesses, the neighbors, the schools, the community that is still part of our family. I was struck by my deep sense of gratitude for the role Longmont has played in our lives.
That’s why I decided to support the Foundation Forward campaign. Not just because Scott is my son, but because the Longmont Chamber of Commerce plays a vital role in supporting the local economy—the same economy that helped me raise five children in this wonderful community.
Longmont holds a special place in my heart, and I believe in investing in its future. The Chamber is not just a building; it’s a cornerstone of the community, supporting local businesses, fostering connections, and driving economic growth.
I invite you to join me supporting this important project. Together, we can contribute to the continued success and prosperity of Longmont. Whether you have deep roots in this community or you’re just discovering the magic of Longmont, your support will make a difference.
Let’s come together to ensure that Longmont remains a thriving, vibrant community for generations to come. Your contribution, no matter the size, will help build a stronger foundation for our beloved Longmont.
Thank you for considering this opportunity to make a lasting impact.
Warm regards,
Victoria Cook
